QUANG NGAI — Four auditors from State Audit of Viet Nam were sentenced to a total of 28 years in prison for receiving bribes, according to central Quang Ngai Province's People's Court yesterday.
When auditing the use of Government bonds in the period 2006-09 in Quang Ngai Province, they were reported to have received VND490 million (US$24,000) in bribes to falsify accounting data and another VND181 million ($8,620) in tips from the management boards of projects they audited.
This was the most serious case of bribery yet reported in Quang Ngai Province.-VNS
