Nhan Dan – Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee External Relations Commission, Vuong Thua Phong, led the Communist Party of Vietnam delegation to attend an international conference on ‘Peace and Reconciliation in Asia’ in Dili, Timor-Leste on April 25 – 26.

The conference was held within the framework of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) and included the participation of 51 delegations from 16 countries.

Topis discussed at the meeting included ‘Peace and Reconciliation in Asia’, ‘Managing Natural Resources to Prevent Conflict Prevention’ and ‘Climate Change and Natural Disasters - Opportunities for Conflict Resolution’.

The event offered an opportunity for the delegations to discuss ideas and exchange views on regional and international issues, and also review the achievements and challenges currently facing governments.

A declaration was adopted at the conference calling on all Asian political parties, governments, and social forces to strengthen co-operation and promote reconciliation, peace and prosperity in Asia.
