PANO - The International Economic Integration Commission of the National Defence Ministry met on February 15th to review last year activities and work out plans for 2011.
Army units and their companies last year were active in the international economic integration process.
In 2010, Military Businesses Renovation Steering Commission under the Military Economic Department helped military businesses become limited liability companies and privatised 50 military businesses.
Military businesses had 36 FDI projects valued at more than US$ 1 billion at the end of 2010. The military businesses also actively invested outside the country and gained some initial results. They include projects of Military Telecom Corporation (Viettel), Military Bank (MB), Ha Do Company. The military businesses’ export turnover reached approximately US$ 200 million.
At the meeting, Senior Lieutenant-General Nguyen Van Duoc, Deputy Minister of National Defence, Head of International Economic Integration Commission of the National Defence spoke highly of the military units’ achievements in international economic integration.
