Of the total volume, the country derived 1,289 tonnes from natural resources, an increase of 3%, and 1,338 tonnes from aquaculture, up 6% compared to the corresponding period in 2011.
However, aquatic products have faced many difficulties due to price uncertainties and disease epidemics.
The Directorate of Fisheries recommends that localities adjust their production methods and establish fishing groups to achieve better outcomes in exploiting and conserving aquatic resources. They should also take advantage the State’s preferential policies to improve the trade.
