VietNamNet Bridge – Gia Lai Provincial Police yesterday, April 28, arrested and remanded Nguyen Cong Chinh in custody on the charges of sabotaging the great national unity policy.
While searching his home, the police seized a number of documents containing anti-administration propaganda that divided the great national unity.
On April 8, Gia Lai Police Investigation Agency issued a decision to start legal proceedings against Chinh on charges of undermining the great national unity policy, pursuant to Article 87 of the Penal Code. Preliminarily, Chinh confessed to his crimes.
Chinh (alias Nguyen Thanh Long) was born in 1969 and is a resident of Hoa Lu Ward, Pleiku. Since 2003, he has sawn the seeds of division among people from all walks of life by hostile content he posted on the internet and in interviews with the foreign media.
Chinh has joined Nguyen Van Ly, Nguyen Van Dai, Le Thi Cong Nhan, Tran Khai Thanh Thuy and others to oppose the people's administration, disseminate distorted information and incite protests.
Gia Lai Police Investigation Agency has handed over documents regarding Chinh's activities to Gia Lai Justice Department and the Ministry of Public Security's Criminal Science Institute for assessment.
The documents sowing divisions in the police force, local authorities and the masses, driving a wedge between Viet Nam and other countries worldwide, with the aim of opposing the people's administration and the State of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, have been confirmed to be compiled by Chinh himself.
Chinh has continued his activities against the people's administration despite being warned not to on numerous occasions.
