HCM CITY Fund management company Anpha Capital has begun to raise capital for a new investment fund, targeting both local and international investors, according to chairman Bui Cong Giang.
He expects the fund raising will be completed by the first quarter in 2010. The scale of the fund has not been disclosed. The fund management company recently became the first of its kind in Viet Nam to acquire the United Nations Principles of Responsible Investment certificate.
"As an asset manager, we have a duty to act in the best long term interests of our investors, investee companies, and for Viet Nam. In this fiduciary role, we believe that environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) issues can affect the performance of investment portfolios. We also believe that applying these principles will better align our investors with the broader objectives of society."
Anpha Capital will be integrating ESG issues into their investment analysis, decision making processes, and ownership policies.
The new fund would be the first ESG fund in the country. VNS
