The Ministry of Transport has proposed to the Prime Minister to start the construction of Vinh Thinh Bridge crossing the Red river on December 28 th , 2011 after being delayed for nearly a year.
The main contractor of the project is the Ministry of Transport while Thang-Long Project Management Board is in charge of implementing the project.
This US$6.2million bridge would be the biggest reinforced concrete one crossing Red River on the belt road No. 5, linking Son Tay town, Hanoi with Vinh Truong district, Vinh Phuc Province.
The bridge’s total length 5.5 kms and its width is 16.5ms with five main spans and four lanes.
The bridge was built with the loan from the Republic of Korea and the counter fund of Vietnam.
