The sex ring was organized by Miss South Mekong Vo Thi My Xuan who was arrested on June 4 after police raided a grand hotel in District 1 and caught four high-class prostitutes having sex with well-off clients on June 2.

According to the lawsuit submitted to the People’s Court of Phu Nhuan District, Nguoi Dua Tin, a publication of Doi Song Va Phap Luat newspaper managed by the Vietnam Lawyers' Association, on June 8 published a two-page article claiming that a beauty by the name of “T.N”, was caught selling sex at the price of US$8,000.

The article used real photos of Tuyet Nhung with the caption “Miss Race Bike T.N rumored to be caught selling sex”.

Similarly, diendan.phununet.com newswire belonging to Vietnam Online Group Joint Stock Company posted a series of Nhung’s photos including one captioned: “Tuyet Nhung - Miss Race Bike caught selling sex”.

In the lawsuit, Nhung demands the two newspapers to correct false information and make a public apology to her.

In addition, the beauty demands the two newspapers to compensate an amount of VND20 million (US$1,000) each. The amount includes VND10 million for psychological damage and VND10 million for the money she spent on winning back her image.

This is not the first lawsuit Nhung filed. Last month, she sued 2sao.vn newswire over the same reason, saying the site had spread false rumors and seriously insulted her and her family’s prestige and honor.

Nhung had also sued zing.vn newswire managed by Vinagame JSC but on July 13, she withdraw the lawsuit as the site had made an apology as well as paid an out-of-court compensation.

Earlier this week, another beauty - actress Ngan Khanh - sued online news site kenh14.vn managed by VC Corp for similarly claiming she was involved in the same sex ring.
