Mr. Trinh Van Trung, from Vinh Ninh Commune (Vinh Loc District, Thanh Hoa Province), has recently found an ancient bronze drum while planting crop at the foot of Ru Than mount.
The drum, 0.8 diameter and 0.6m high, is decorated by a 12-pointed star in the middle of its surface and other patterns and lines. The images surrounding the star show daily activities of ancient people, such as dancing, rowing, pounding rice, hunting.
According to archaeologist Vu The Long of the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the newly-found drum belongs to the Dong Son Culture.
