All 3 coaches present agree to fire Falko Goetz

Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) held a meeting today in Hanoi with the five-member National Coaches’ Association to consult their ideas on the sack of German coach Falko Goetz and three of them voted yes while two others were absent.

Earlier, the VFF Executive Board had convened a meeting and voted for the sack of the coach of the Vietnam’s national U-23 football team for their loss at 26th SEA Games last month in Indonesia.
Coach Goetz has been blamed for his failure in setting up an 11-strong team for the biannual tournament.
Nguyen Sy Hien, chief of the association, and two coaches Mai Duc Chung and Nguyen Trong Giap voted for the premature termination of the German man although his contract was supposed to last till 2013.
Le The Tho, one of the two coaches absent together with Duong Ngoc Hung, told Tuoi Tre, “It’s ridiculous for the VFF to take the association to shield responsibility for the decision.”
The coaches’ association also recommended the VFF to appoint local coaches to replace Falko Goetz. Three nominees are Phan Thanh Hung, Mai Duc Chung and Nguyen Huu Thang.
