Admiral Nguyen Van Hien receives US 7th Fleet Commander

PANO - Admiral Scott H. Swift, the Commander of the US 7 th Fleet paid a courtesy visit to Vietnam People’s Army’s Naval Command on April 27 th , on the occasion of the US 7 th Fleet’s visit to Da Nang City.

At the reception, Admiral Nguyen Van Hien, the Deputy-Minister of National Defence and Commander of the Navy, highly appreciated the cooperation between the naval services of the two countries in recent time, considering it as a symbol of friendship, cooperation and development between the two naval services.

The Vietnamese Admiral hoped that Vietnamese Navy and the US 7 th Fleet would promote cooperation relations in terms of search and rescue, logistics for ship operations, medical staff training and exchanges of visits relating to mutual interests.

Admiral Scott H. Swift thanked the Vietnamese Navy for facilitating favourable conditions and receiving many ship-visits of the US Navy to the country.

He said that he would come up with practical activities to increase the cooperation between the two navies, including the cooperation areas suggested by the Vietnamese Navy.
