>> Beauty accused of selling sex sues online news site
Previously Khanh filed a lawsuit against VC Corp., which manages kenh14.vn, for posting false information about her involvement in selling sex.
In the lawsuit submitted to the People’s Committee in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 10, where she resides, the 27-year old required the news site to make an amendment, apologize and compensate her with an amount of VND60 million (US$3000) for damaging her image.
According to the lawsuit, on June 6 the website posted two articles indicating that Khanh was involved in the celebrity prostitution ring organized by Miss South Mekong Vo Thi My Xuan.
Although her name was written in initials—N.K or L.N.K, information about her age, hometown, and private house in HCMC, and even a picture of the house allowed readers to easily guess it was her.
After that, the site posted an article to amend the information and to apologize to the singer. They also said they have contacted Khanh’s representative and sought sympathy.
In talking with Tuoi Tre Ho Nguyen Le, the actress’s representative, said they still do not approve of the amendment on the website and will ask the court to put forward the suit.
He said he has demanded that the Bailiff’s Office in the city’s Tan Binh district make records of articles accusing the actress posted on June 6-7, which have since been taken down by the site.
According to Le two news sites, Vietnamnet and VTC, also published inaccurate articles about Khanh’s involvement in the sex ring during that time. However, they later published documents to apologize and made amendment on their sites.
