At the Ballet Symphony Orchestra, Metters will conduct classics by Beethoven as well as contemporary compositions by Jonathan Harvey, John Lambert, and Matthew Taylor.
In 1997, Vietnam invited Metters to wield his baton over orchestras in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. He was then appointed to Principal Guest Conductor and Music Advisor to the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, a post he continues to hold.
Metters, who received the Order of Merit for his cultural contributions, has recorded and broadcast for radio and television in Germany, Spain, and Vietnam, as well as for BBC radio and television in the UK.
His professional work has taken the maestro to places as far-flung as Greece, New Zealand, Singapore, the United States, and Venezuela.
The latest concert will take place at 8 p.m. July 6 at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House, 7 Lam Son Square, District 1.
Tickets are available there and at the city Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera, 3 Phan Van Dat Street, District 1.
