The Hanoitimes - ASEAN telecom administrators gathered in Hanoi to share experiences and information in an effort to improve their management capacity.
Speaking at the annual conference that will continue until on July 10, Standing Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Le Nam Thang said that the event was a chance for regional telecom administrators to learn about new technological achievements and new services, equipment and applications.
High on the conference agenda are discussions to promote co-operation among ASEAN countries in several major fields, including the sharing telecom infrastructure, roaming and television digitalisation in the region.
In addition, the conference will review what the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has done on the framework of the Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Working Group on Telecommunications and Information (TEL), the Asian Pacific Telecommunity (APT) and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).
The conference will also include sessions for representatives from ASEAN’s important partners namely China, Japan and the European Union (EU).
