VGP - The 13th meeting of the ASEAN Sub-Committee on Information (SCI 13) was held in Da Nang City from June 12-13.
At the meeting’s plenary session, delegates discussed measures to implement ASEAN leaders’ decisions on information-related issues, upgrade the progress of ASEAN communications, connection plans, carry out projects in the 2012-2013 period.
The delegates are to touch upon roadmaps to using digital television in ASEAN countries by 2020, and plans on exchanging TV and radio programs, as well as encouraging youths in communications projects.
At the session between SCI and China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (SCI+3), the representatives from 13 countries are to update commitments of ASEAN leaders and discuss plans on realizing the commitments for closer ties between the two sides.
Vietnam is modernizing information and communications infrastructure to meet increasing demand for information of the public, and actively participating in regional efforts to boost exchanges of culture and information among ASEAN members.
