A FTA with ASEAN is the long-term goal that the EU has been debating over the past years, she stressed.
Both sides began FTA talks in 2007 but the process was cancelled in 2009 as the EU chose bilateral approach to each of ASEAN members.
The EU has reached bilateral FTA with Singapore and Viet Nam.
