A competition among professional chefs will take place in Vietnam in a new television program, Iron Chef Vietnam 2012, to be aired on Vietnam Television Channel 3 (VTV3) at 11am every Sunday, from April 22 nd .
In this 26 episode-program, professional chefs from restaurants and hotels will compete with one of three super-chefs of the program to choose the best chef who cook five best dishes from only one ingredient within one hour.
The super-chefs will be David Thai, deputy-head of Global France Chef Association in Vietnam, Long, chef from De Nhat Restaurant and Yu Zhi Da, chef of the Chinese kitchen in The Windsor Plaza Hotel.
Chef Duong Huy Khai and cuisine expert Tinh Hai will be two official jury board members of the program which is jointly produced by Vietnam Television and TVPlus. The third member of the jury will rotate among Martin Yan, famous for trademark Yan can cook, model Thuy Hanh, Miss Giang My, directors Le Hoang and Nguyen Quang Dung.
The winner will be rewarded VND20million and have a chance to become Iron Chef 2013 and attend some international professional cuisine competitions.
Each episode is independent; thus, there might be a number of winners.
Iron Chef is sourced from Japan, attracting a large number of spectators with the first TV broadcast. It has quickly spread to the USA. At present, it has been broadcast in England, Australia, Canada, Finland and Sweden.
