PANO - On July 26th, Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, in association with Vietnam Television, held a live Television Bridge to celebrate 65 th anniversary of the Day of War-Invalids and Martyrs, “Everlasting Epic”, in four locations, Hanoi, Dai Tu District in Thai Nguyen Province, Phu Quoc Prison in Kien Giang Province, Quang Tri and the South Central Security Base in Tay Ninh Province.
These are historical places with typical revolutionary events, representing revolutionary heroism with resilient fighting spirit and brave sacrifices of Vietnamese people.
Le Hong Anh, the Party Central Committee Secretariat, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, the National Assembly Vice-Chairwoman, and many members of the Politburo of the Party Central Committee attended the event.
The program is seen as incenses from younger generations to express deep gratitude to fallen heroic martyrs for the nation’s current independence and liberty. During the program, every story is closely connected to an historical event or place with great contributions to the nation.
The program highlights many helpful policies of the Government and the people to war-invalids, martyrs’ sacrifices for national cause of liberation, defence and construction as well as their great patriotism and indomitable spirit of the elderly.
Speaking at the live Television Bridge in Hanoi, Mrs. Ngan, on behalf of the Vietnamese Government leaders, once again confirmed great contributions of heroes and martyrs who sacrificed for the nation.
She also stressed that since 1947, President Ho Chi Minh selected July 27th to be the Day of War-Invalids and Martyrs to express gratitude to these heroic people. Following this tradition, people nationwide annually organize various practical activities, including raising funds for the movement of “returning somebody's favor”, presenting houses of gratitude and savings accounts, finding and gathering martyr remains, identifying gene of martyrs remains, aiming to relieve spiritual pains and assist people for better life. In the coming time, all people need to do more to perfect privileged policies for these heroic people.
The live Television Bridge is the emotion of younger generations to great sacrifice of the elderly for a peaceful, independent and united Vietnam. This is also a motivation for younger generations to make more contributions to developing the country.
