On February 16, the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality under the Ministry of Science and Technology held a press briefing to announce the award winners.
The annual award aims help businesses develop their trademarks, improve their competitive capacity in the country’s international integration and socio-economic development, and promotes Vietnamese products and services.
The organising board has chosen 96 out of more than 200 businesses from 44 cities and provinces throughout the country to present the awards, which includes 11 gold and 85 silver prizes.
The 11 gold prize winners include Thien Long Group Corporation, Trung Nguyen Coffee, Tien Phong Plastic JSC, Pomina Steel Co., Ltd, Chemical 21 single member limited liability company, Vietrust JSC, PVC - FECON Pre-tension Concrete JSC, Nam Duoc Pharmaceutical Corporation, Minh Dung Veterinary - Aquaculture Medicine Co., Ltd, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Urban Sewerage and Development single member limited liability company, and Binh Vinh JSC.
The 85 silver prize winners include 34 large-sized and 37 small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises, along with four big-scale and ten small and medium-scale service providers.
Two other enterprises, Minh Long I Co., Ltd and Robot Investment Corporation, will also be honoured with the 2011 Global Performance Excellence Award (GPEA) from the Asia-Pacific Quality Organisation.
From 1996-2011, nearly 1,400 businesses were presented with the National Quality Award and 26 others received the GPEA.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Hanoi on February 26 and will be broadcast live on VTV1 channel.
