The symposium, which is held every two years, aims to review the previous gathering’s resolutions and develop revised plans regarding the education, cultural and organizational directions of KTB.

It also discussed the activities of KTB’s monks and monasteries to develop the KTB religion and maintain its Khmer cultural identity, together with the overall development of Buddhism in Vietnam.

The gathering contributed many ideas to finalise the 5th BSV’s charter and plans between 2012-2017, in response to the 7th National Buddhist Congress which will be held in November in Hanoi.

Since 2004, under the Prime Minister’s direction on supporting KTB’s activities, plans that were developed in previous symposiums have been effectively implemented due to efforts of KTB monks and followers, as well as the support of central and local authorities and branches.
