Nhan Dan – Over 5 million tonnes of rice have been exported since early this year, a year-on-year 5.86% increase, according to the Vietnam Food Association.
The export turnover of rice reached over US$2.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 10.19%. The average price of exported rice was US$424.24 per tonne, US$16.64 per tonne higher than that in the same period last year.
Despite the impact of natural disasters, the domestic rice output still rose. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the output of unhusked rice output is expected to reach 39 – 39.1 million tonnes this year, and the output of husked rice is projected to be 7.2 million tonnes.
