(VOV) - Volunteer doctors of the Good Samaritan Medical Ministry organization have provided free medical check-ups and medicines for more than 3,000 poor people in northern Cao Bang province.
American surgeons perform free surgery While staying there from July 17-27, they offered free surgery for 90 patients who suffered from poor digestion, obstetrical, cardiovascular and eye diseases and cancer.
Besides, they also presented modern equipment to Cao Bang general hospital and transferred new technical know-how to local doctors.
The total funding for the programme is estimated at more than US$500,000.
Most of the volunteer doctors are overseas Vietnamese coming from the United States.
