3,000 cruise tourists arrive in Vung Tau

The five-star cruise Voyager of the Sea from Bahamas, carrying 3,209 passengers from Australia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, UK and the US, arrived at the SP-PSA Port in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province's Tan Thanh District on Thursday (June 14).

The five-star cruise Voyager of the Sea from Bahamas, carrying 3,209 passengers from Australia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, UK and the US, arrived at the SP-PSA Port in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province's Tan Thanh District on Thursday (June 14).

This is the largest number of cruise tourists that have arrived in the province. The tourists were received by the Destination Asia travel company and will sightsee in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province and HCM City.

Second turbine at A Luoi hydro project on line

The turbine 2 of the A Luoi hydropower plant in central Thua Thien Hue Province began generating electricity on Thursday (June 14), joining the national grid.

Turbine 1 began generating electricity last month. The electricity generated by the two turbines is transferred via a 220kV electricity line to the 220kV transformer station in Hue and Dong Ha.

The hydropower plant's two turbines have a total capacity of 170MW. The plant is built on A Sap River in Hong Ha Village, A Luoi District. It cost VND3,234 billion ($154 million) to build.
