An explosion broke out in the hold of a ship that was under repair at a shipbuilding company in Nha Trang City yesterday, severely injuring 3 workers.

The incident occurred at 2:30 pm on Saturday when a group of workers were carrying out repair works on the Truong Giang 54 ship at Nha Trang Shipbuilding One Member Co. Ltd. (Vinashin Nha Trang).
28-year-old Huynh Cong Viet, a welder, broke one leg, was burnt on the face, and suffered injuries in the eyes.
2 other workers, 25-year-old Mang Thuy, and Vo Chi Trung, whose age was not identified, suffered serious injuries in the abdomens.
In late December 2010, the ship crashed into a reef and broke into half when it was entering Nha Trang Bay with 1,950 tons of fertilizer on board, the company said.
The ship is owned by Truong Giang Sea Transportation Co Ltd in Nam Dinh Province.
