Police in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum Province have arrested 26 men who threatened to kill a police officer after he attempted to break up a fight on June 14.
Tran Van Son, chairman of a Dak La Commune in the province, said 28 men surrounded officer Tran Cong Quang and held knives to his neck when he attempted to prevent them from assaulting a commune resident named Trinh Van Suong.
Police say the 28 men were hired by a man to resolve his conflict with Suong.
Two members of the gang remain at large.
