The 2030 Businessmen Club under the Saigon Times Club has announced it will organize this year’s charity caravan trip to neighboring Laos.
The tour is set to depart from Danang City on April 28 by car to follow the Quang Tri Province-Savannakhet (Laos)-Hue-Danang route and finish up on May 2. After that, the club members will return to HCMC by air. Participation fee is VND15 million each including a roundtrip airfare for the HCMC-Danang route and car rentals.
From 2006 to last year, the club convened six caravan tours from Ca Mau to provinces in the northwest, Central Highlands and Cambodia.
The seventh event will see around 120 businessmen members, their families and donors offer 300 presents to pupils of Tram primary school in Trieu Thuong Commune in Trieu Phong District, Quang Tri, said Nguyen Thanh Phong, head of the organizers. The total value of the charity program is worth around VND150 million.
The organizer has collected studying tools and gifts for the needy pupils. It is also raising funds to help upgrade piers of the school which usually suffer landslide during the rainy season.
