(VOV) - Eighty Vietnamese and foreign athletes are expected to take part in the Fansipan Mountain Climbing tournament 2011 scheduled for December 17-19.
They will climb up from Tram Ton to Mount Fansipan and then return to Tram Ton.
The tournament is part of a tourism programme co-organized by the northern provinces of Lao Cai, Yen Bai and Phu Tho.
The organizers said that Sapa will also host a number of cultural and sports activities for both tourists and guests from eight northwestern provinces to attend a conference on local tourism cooperation.
