Three children aged 11 to 12 drowned while bathing in a check dam in Vietnam's central province of Quang Binh Tuesday, Vietnam News Agency reported.
Two girls – Dinh Thi Phuong Ly, 11, and Dinh Thi Bich, 12 -- and a boy, Dinh Hoang Trung, 11, of Minh Hoa District went to the dam near their homes at around 6:30 p.m.
They reportedly swam to the middle and became too weak to swim ashore.
Some locals who were on a fishing boat spotted them and rowed to the site, but by then, unfortunately, the children had drowned.
The three bodies were brought ashore later.
