The incident started at 1:15 pm at the shop at 62 on 26/3 Street, causing some local parents become panicked while rushing towards the Hong Loan kindergarten.
Locals said they saw flames of fire blazing up fiercely soon after hearing a big explosion from the warehouse in the back yard of the shop where many big barrels of paint and resin were kept.
Smell and black smoke covered the whole area minutes following the explosion, a witness said.
Seven fire fighting vehicles and two commanding cars arrived at the scene soon after the fire burst out. They safely rescued all the 14 children before completely stamping out the fire at 1:50 pm.
