1,000 volunteers to make trans-Vietnam walk

VietNamNet Bridge – Up to 1,000 people, including Miss Vietnam World 2010, Luu Thi Diem Huong will walk through 16 provinces from the north to the south.

Miss Vietnam World 2010 Diem Huong will join the walk.

The walk, entitled “From Sen village to Nha Rong wharf”, is held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the day President Ho Chi Minh left Vietnam to seek ways to liberate the country and 50 years of the Agent/Orange disaster in Vietnam.

The walk will start from Hanoi through Nghe An (President Ho’s hometown) to HCM City, totaling over 1,500km.

The oldest walker is Mrs. Huynh Thi Kieu Mien, 78. Mrs. Huynh Thi Kieu Thu, 60, a last-stage cancer patient who rode a bicycle throughout Vietnam also joins the walk.

Miss Vietnam World 2010, Diem Huong is the goodwill ambassador of the event, besides musician Nguyen Cuong, Miss Vietnam 2006, Mai Phuong Thuy, Miss Fashion of Miss Earth pageant Truong Tri Truc Diem, Miss Vietnam 2010, Ngoc Han and actors Quyen Linh, Xuan Bac, Tu Long, show host Thanh Bach.

Many events will be held in 16 provinces and cities where the walkers pass.

The walk is scheduled for 43 days, from July 2 to August 12.
