Vietinbank hands over a house to a policy beneficiary family in Hoa Thuan commune, Chau Thanh district.
Nhan Dan – A thousand houses of compassion have been presented to policy beneficiary families and needy households in Tra Vinh province.
A ceremony to inaugurate and hand over the houses to local people was held jointly by the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province and Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank) in Tra Vinh on September 22.
The total investment for the housing programme is VND 25 billion, of which, Vietinbank finances VND 20 billion.
The housing programme which has been deployed since March 2010 accommodates more than 3,000 local people in Tra Vinh city, Cang Long, Chau Thanh, Cau Ke, Cau Ngang, Duyen Hai, Tra Cu and Tieu Can districts.
It is one of the activities to eliminate slums in Tra Vinh province by the end of this year.
Vietinbank pledged to sponsor VND 20 billion to build 1,000 more houses for needy families in the province.
