Following an earlier case this month in Can Tho city, an official in Bac Lieu Province has now indicated where he works in his daughter’s wedding invitation card, VnExpress reported.

Some officials in Bac Lieu town told newswire VnExpress yesterday that they were unhappy to receive the invitation from Huynh Van Phuong, aka Tam Phuong, an official working for the provincial party committee’s Inspection Commission.
But Phuong told the newswire that he did not have any position in the commission and only indicated he worked for it as a means of identification to let guests know who had invited them.
He also said he had only invited current and past colleagues and close friends to the wedding, which is scheduled for 4.30 pm today.
Phan Viet Lam, deputy chairman of the commission, said he had not read the card yet and could only comment after doing so.
Earlier this month Nguyen Hung Dung, standing deputy head of the Can Tho Steering Board for Anti-Corruption, was reprimanded by the city party committee for printing his name and position on his son’s wedding invitation card.
“It is likely to be thought that he wanted to abuse his position for benefit,” a veteran city official had said then.
