The VTV4 television channel, a unit of Vietnam Television, will air in Cambodia from August 15, in an effort to bring VTV programmes to Vietnamese nationals.

The agreement to launch the service was signed between Vietnam Television and Cambodia ’s Royal Media Entertainment Corporation on August 7, under which, VTV4’s programmes will cover up to 70% of Cambodia ’s territory.

The two sides also agreed to broadcast programmes in the Khmer language to serve those who are speaking the language in daily life.

As a joint-venture between Cambodia and Russia, the Royal Media Entertainment Corporation was set up to launch a pay terrestrial digital television service with 60 channels across Cambodia.
