VNA to add 195 flights during holidays

Nhan Dan Online - The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) announced on April 17 that it will offer 195 additional flights on eight domestic routes from April 27 to May 2 during the upcoming Liberation Day (April 30) and May Day national holidays.

The travel demand during the holiday is expected to rise 10% compared to the same period last year, and the number of additional domestic flights is estimated to increase 16% over the usual capacity.

Flights to and from Da Nang will increase during the 2012 Da Nang International Fireworks Competition. VNA will add 77 flights on the Hanoi – Da Nang route, 56 for Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang, and four on the Da Nang – Hai Phong route.

There will also be 16 extra flights from Hanoi to Nha Trang and 15 from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang, as well as 21 on the Ho Chi Minh City – Phu Quoc route, four from Hanoi to Quang Binh and two more from Hanoi to Hue.

The national flag carrier will also provide 14 additional flights on three international routes including Ho Chi Minh City – Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City – Hongkong, and Hanoi – Siem Riep.
