Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh on July 27 worked
with the leaders of the City of London to introduce Vietnam’s potential
for cooperation, especially in the field of culture, sports and
tourism.
The working session took place during
Anh’s visit to the UK from July 26-29 to attend the opening
ceremony of the London Olympic Games 2012.
The
minister called on UK investors to boost investment in Vietnam ,
thus furthering the strategic partnership signed between the two
countries in September 2010.
He also wished the UK success in organising the Games.
The Lord Mayor of the City of London , David Wootton, said that many
UK businesses want to invest in Vietnam , especially in banking,
finance, insurance, sports, tourism and infrastructure development.
He said he plans to visit some Asian countries, including Vietnam ,
right after the London Paralympics 2012 wraps up in September this
year.
On the same day, Minister Anh visited Vietnamese athletes who will compete at the Games.-VNA
