PANO – The Phu Yen Provincial Steering Committee of the PT-12, on July 20th, held a live fire exercise for units in Ea Trol Commune, Song Hinh District.

Present at the exercise were Major-General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Chief-of-the-General-Staff, Major-General Le Chiem, Commander of the Military Zone 5, Mr. Dao Tan Loc, Phu Yen Party Committee Secretary and Head of Steering Committee of the PT-12 and other leaders of the Phu Yen People’s Council, People’s Committee and army units.

According to a mock-up situation, local reservists and militia, using all kinds of firepower, worked together to crush an airborne unit of the enemy at Chu Bat Mount in Ea Trol Commune.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Major-General Le Chiem highly valued all units’ preparations before training and efforts to take challenges in their stride and asked the troops continue to bring into play Uncle Ho’s soldier image to benefit their families and hometowns, maintain social order as well as be ready to join training courses and combats once receiving order.

After 4 days, the drill on defensive area PT-12 and a live fire exercise successfully finished with full safety. The Military Zone 5’s High Command and defensive area drill Steering Board evaluated Phu Yen units fulfilled its task.
