PANO – These days in August, naval staff and troops of the High Command of Naval Region 3 have been carrying various activities to mark the 48th anniversary of the first victory of Vietnam People’s Navy (August 5^th 1964 – 2012). Spirit of the victory urged troops of the young generation to overcome all difficulties and challenges to successfully fulfill their missions of protecting the national sovereignty over sea and islands.

Setting up foundation by promoting traditions 

Colonel Nguyen Tien Dung, Political Commissar of High Command of Naval Region 3 said that missions of naval troops are increasingly difficult, requiring them not only to have technical knowledge but also strong political spirit and wisdom to deal with incidental problems happen at sea. Over the past years, together with training activities, the unit has paid attention to raise quality of political education to help troops be truly and fully aware of the current sophisticated situation and their mission as well as promote their responsibility and ability.

The Party Committee and High Command of the Naval Region 3 have worked closely with executive committees to make clear the target, ideals, political spirit and fighting spirit, “Determine to fight and Determine to win”, for naval staff and troops. The unit also had different methods to improve teaching and learning quality for staff and troops.

Naval troops are training days and nights to fulfill assigned tasks

In addition, the Naval Region 3 focused on educating and grasping thoroughly the mission of naval staff and troops, promoting the spirit of revolutionary vigilance and the will to determine to fight, and to fulfill all assigned tasks. Agencies and units always paid attention to educating traditional history, art of war of old generation, traditional fighting techniques of naval troops for naval staff and troops as well as helping young generation understand more about the importance role of the first victory of Vietnam People’s Navy to learn their responsibility in promoting forces building and combat readiness training.

Moreover, political agency of the unit also pays attention to educating new recruits the Navy’s tradition through activities, such as youth forums, “Remember the roots” birthday celebrations, exchanges with historical witnesses, visits to historical relic sites and to name but a few.

Thanks to these activities, the love and responsibility of naval staff and troops for sea and islands are increasingly promoted. Over the past time, in spite of difficulties and challenges, 100% of staff and troops have been always prepared for the mission.

Comprehensive renewal in training mission

Senior Lieutenant-Colonel Nguyen Duy Khanh, Deputy Chief of Staff for training of Naval Region 3 said that the technique for the success in combat readiness training of the Region over the past years is that the unit has been following the motto “be attached to the mission, attached to objects, attached to the designed plans, and to weapons and equipments and battlefield”, 

Sub-units in the Region have also been focusing on training mission based on subject, requirement and reality of the locality. The Party Committee and High Command of the Naval Region 3 proactively predicted the situation and carried out training activities for troops. The Region continuously promoted its commanding and consulting capacity as well as ensured logistics and technologies for training missions.

According to Colonel Ngo Sy Quyet, Commander of Naval Region 3, to build revolutionary, regular, elité and modern naval troops, the unit focuses on dealing with problems, including training staff and troops comprehensively and promoting movement “Managing and exploiting weapons and technical equipments durably, safely and economically”.

At present, naval staff and troops are actively training in spite of raining or scorching sun. They want send the message, “Do have trust in us, we are training days and nights to fulfill all tasks assigned by the nation and people.”
