Mr. Le Thanh Hai welcomes President of the Cambodian National Assembly Heng Samrin

Cambodia wants to continue fostering traditional ties with Vietnam, for the benefit of the two peoples, for national peace in each country, the region and the world.

President of the Cambodian National Assembly Heng Samrin, who is on a visit to Vietnam from July 20-25, made the statement at a meeting in HCM City with Le Thanh Hai, Secretary of the HCM City Party Committee on July 20.

Hai expressed his delight at the achievements made by the Cambodian people under the leadership of the Cambodian People’s Party over the recent past.

He also thanked the Cambodian NA for its assistance in cooperative activities between Phnom Penh and HCM City, which according to him, has produced practical results, contributing to friendship between the two countries.

Over the past time, HCM City has continued strengthening and expanding friendship and cooperation with Phnom Penh, including projects in health care, agriculture, trade and education.

At present, HCM City businesses are investing in about 35 projects worth nearly 200 million USD in Cambodia. Notably among them is the 500-bed Cho Ray – Phnom Penh hospital, which is due to go into operation in mid-2013.
