Nhan Dan – The Hanoi municipal Special Amnesty Advisory Council announced on April 27 that 238 prisoners serving terms at three detention camps in the capital will be granted amnesty or have their jail time reduced on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30).

The selected inmates have performed well during their prison terms and are eligible for parole in line with the State President’s decision.

Accordingly, 82 prisoners will be released and 156 others will have their terms reduced by three to eight months.
