Almost all the rice is mainly consumed in Asian and African markets with an average price of US$464 per ton.
This year, the region’s rice output is estimated at over 18 million tons.
In an other move, the central Government has decided to buy 0.5 million tons of rice for reserve in a bid to stabilize domestic rice price.
The rice price will increase again this month, economists forecast.
