A health programme officially got underway in Hanoi on June 28, with the European Union (EU) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) supporting Vietnam ’s Ministry of Health.

The programme ‘Policy Dialogue’ will help Vietnam to enhance its ability to evaluate plans, strategies and national policies when expanding medical services across the country.

The programme will also use the ability and experience of the WHO, as it will chair the project to provide Vietnam with the best technical solutions available.

Vietnam was one of seven countries selected by EU to join the WTO’s health programme because of the recent achievements the country has made in the medical field.

Over the years, the EU has contributed significantly to health care services in Vietnam , spending over 70 million euros on health care services in the country. This latest programme will run for three years.-VNA
