Two Backstreet Boys arrive in Ho Chi Minh City

Two members of the famous Backstreet Boys band Nick Carter and Howie Dorough have just arrived in Ho Chi Minh City this Monday afternoon at 11.30pm.

Hundreds of fans and reporters have assembled at the domestic terminal at Tan Son Nhat Airport since 9 am to greet them.

Fans wearing yellow uniforms sang hit songs of Backstreet Boys and attracted attention from people at the airport.

When the two guys arrived, security guards had to build up an arm cordon to make way for Nick and Howie.

The two Backstreet Boys members were scheduled to arrive at 2am today but due to the earth quake and tsunami in Japan, they could not transit in Japan but had to continue to Korea. They set foot in Hanoi at 7am today and then took a 9am flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Despite a 36-hour long haul trip, Nick Carter was friendly and waved hands to greet Vietnamese fans, especially the girls who shouted out for him.

Howie Dorough was quiet as he was accompanied by his wife. He planned to take her around Ho Chi Minh City this afternoon.
The meeting with two Backstreet Boys members with fans at airport happened briefly for a few minutes. The two quickly got into a car and drove off to their hotel.

According to the organizers, the crew will have a city tour this afternoon. Tomorrow, they will visit Cu Chi tunnel to learn about Vietnamese history and people.

The other two members, AJ McLean and Brian Littrell will arrive on March 22 and 23.

On the morning of March 23, Backstreet Boys will attend a press conference and rehearse for the concert on March 24 at the Military Zone 7's Stadium.

The Backstreet Boys debuted in 1996 and have sold over 130 million records worldwide, making them one of the biggest selling artists of all time.
