The ‘National Drama Stage Festival 2012’ opened at the Cultural Center in Hue City on July 14.

The event has attracted more than 500 artists from 20 State-owned and private theaters from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Thai Nguyen and Thanh Hoa Provinces.

The festival will present to audiences plays honoring revolutionary heroes, patriots, and showcase the Vietnamese spirit during war time, the achievements of the Party and people and the subsequent social integration later.

Eight plays will be performed by 5B Theater; Van Tuan Cinema and Theater Joint Stock Company; Nu Cuoi Moi Theater; Saigon Phang Multimedia Company; and Phuoc Sang Stage and Youth World Theater of HCMC University of Theater & Cinema.

The festival will run until July 28.
