The Hanoitimes - Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, 62, from Dong Ha town of Quang Tri province has just finished his fourth university entrance exam. “I’ve registered for university entrance exams for five times and this is the fourth exam of mine (he could not take one exam because of toothache). How physics deludes me! I’ve trained my self everyday in the last five years,” Minh told a correspondent at Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School in the central city of Hue, where he took the exam .
“My wife said that I was mad. My children were ashamed because their old father still intended to take university exams. I think differently. I love studying and I will take the next exam if I fail this time,” he added. Minh said of three exam subjects, including maths, physics and chemistry, physics is his forte. Like the previous times, he registered for the Physics Faculty of the Hue University for Sciences.
He said that he had funded the trip to Hue city for the exams, he “secretly” sent some money to his friends from early 2012, with VND50,000 to VND100,000 ($2.5-$5) to each friend.
He did not let his wife know about it, being afraid that she would grumble. Last year he sold several bunches of bananas to get some cash for the exams.
