HCMC – July witnessed 937 businesses resuming their operations, contrary to the preceding six months when the number of suspended firms kept surging, said a press release of the Ministry of Finance.
The enterprises that continued their operations in July were mainly from the non-State sectors. “This represents more optimistic signs in business operation,” said the press release coming out on Monday.
A report of the General Department of Taxation shows that more than 46,800 new companies were established in the first seven months of 2012, including some 42,300 non-State firms.
As of end-July, the number of businesses temporarily halting their operations was around 20,700, versus over 21,600 by end-June, said the finance ministry.
According to corporate tax declarations in the second quarter, the enterprises with higher pre-tax profits than the first quarter accounted for 2.5%, in which the State corporate sector picked up 5.8% against the first quarter.
